HOW TO SEARCH FOR DOCUMENTS
- To initiate the search for your family documents in the Lithuanian archives, we will require an authorisation form. We will send you the power of attorney form. All you have to do is enter your details and sign. The form must then be certified by a notary in your country of residence with an Apostille certification.
- We also request a copy of your valid passport.
- Please email the completed power of attorney form and copy of your passport to our office (scan in PDF). A photo taken by phone is not acceptable. Please send the original paper documents by registered mail to our mailing address.
- Upon receipt of the completed documentation, we will immediately commence researching the relevant Lithuanian archives.
- Please be advised that an exhaustive search can take several months or even a year. No one can guarantee a specific search time term and result (positive or negative) because each family situation and history is different, unique.
- However, we can guarantee you that we will make every effort to leverage our expertise and devote full attention to locating your family’s archival records.
- Once we have received the results of the search from the Lithuanian archives, we will mail any findings directly to you via registered mail.
